Palo Alto
Using conferROOMS technology developed for Palo Alto research firm Polimetrix, Dr. James Fishkin of Stanford University's Center for Deliberative Democracy brought together citizens from across the country in a series of Dialogues in Democracy.
In October and November 2007, 300 adult Americans engaged in a national discussion about citizenship and democracy in modern American society. 20 groups met for an hour each week for four weeks and deliberated on a different topic regarding Citizenship in the 21st Century.
Dr. Fishkin presented the results of his study to a gathering in Colonial Williamsburg as seen on the PBS special By the People on January 4.
